Flourish, After Miller, 2026

The Frick Exclusive Sculpture

Abraham Miller’s carved botanical motifs are distilled into a contemporary sculpture in the round. Released from the wall and suspended in space, the forms take on new movement, lightness, and life while honoring Miller’s craftsmanship. Flourish draws on the word’s dual meaning as both an ornamental gesture and an expression of growth and vitality. Carved from salvaged eastern black walnut and stainless steel, the spirited flourish blooms from a solid base, flora balancing aloft the carefully refined stems.

A thirty-page collector's booklet detailing the collaboration is included.

Eittem for The Frick Collection

Eittem for The Frick Collection invites a contemporary New York atelier into dialogue with historic craftsmanship. United by shared material, the collection responds to the carved wood overmantel created by Abraham Miller in 1914 for the walnut-paneled bedroom of Henry Clay Frick.

Across the collection, Eittem’s engagement with archetypal forms from nature finds a meaningful counterpart in the botanical language of Miller’s carvings.

Fine Craft in Chelsea, New York City

Eittem for The Frick Collection invites a contemporary New York atelier into dialogue with the historic craftsmanship that adorns the mansion walls. At Eittem, a small team of in-house artisans combines traditional handcraft with advanced fabrication methods, allowing intuition and precision to coexist.

Eittem's atelier in the heart of Manhattan

A design begins as a sketch.

The drawing is translated to a digital model; then, a set of instructions precise enough for a machine to follow is created.

Wood is sanded with a gentle touch.

The brooches' silver elements are cast from a model designed in house, then polished to a jewelry level shine.

The final, velvety feel of the wood is achieved by a ritual of sanding and finishing.

Now presented in the Frick's signature shade of red, Alpine leather is wet-molded to line the curved interiors.

Even the unseen details—like the edge of the interior pocket, which is saddle stitched—are completed by hand.
